Weekend Guest, Halloween, The Mole

Hey All,

Colin came home on the bus Friday and got off with an unexpected weekend guest. His class has a classroom pet and her name is Daisy and she goes home with a student each weekend. She comes with a book to read, a scrapbook to look through and to put your weekend in, and a camera. Colin was in a frenzy to find something for Daisy to wear for trick or treating. He searched the house because he wanted Daisy to be dressed up. He finally asked Shrek if Daisy could borrow his clothes to dress up in and Shrek was more than glad to help out.

Finally all dressed, Colin as Ninja Lord and Daisy as Shrek, we headed out for trick or treating. We was only out a little over an hour and the two were ready to go home and check out his goody bag.

It was time to settle down for the night and after finding Daisy a nightshirt we were ready to read the book that Daisy brought with her... Come Along Daisy.

Saturday I had already planned on taking Colin to the bakery and we were in time to see them pull out some breads and rolls from the oven. Daisy and Colin looked at all the cakes and cookies with wide eyes. This activity is out of his scout book and so we came home and made brownies. YUM!

That evening we made homemade pizza. Oh MY Gosh it was GOOD! Jene` went to meet a group of kids to watch movies and they had ordered pizza and said why aren't you eating? She said my mom made homemade pizza. She said they all wanted some of that instead of the pizza sitting in front of them.

Sunday afternoon was a day of outside time for Colin and Daisy. I started gathering the few leaves that had fallen in the front and took down the Halloween decorations.

Saturday I helped Jene` sew the MOLE. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. This mole is for chemistry and had to be made or dressed to represent an element. She had picked silicon. So her mole is filled with sand and has a coat to represent a doctor. It has big lips to represent implants and a name tag as Dr. Si. He has stars on his lab coat because stars because they have silicon in them. Glass, cars, and rubic cubes are made silicon and so the eye glasses, the car key in the back pocket and she made a small paper rubic cube and put in his one hand. She worked hard on this little guy and I hope she gets a good grade on him.

You have seen and heard about two of the kids and no I haven't forgotten about Dale but he wasn't home much. He spent most of his weekend either at friends or at the Y. Basketball tryouts are next week so that is all they are thinking about and practicing.

I have been working on my frugal challenges. We made it one week without ordering take out and I actually made out a meal plan for the week. It only took 2 days! Went and bought what I had on my list and wouldn't you know I haven't stuck to that plan once. I attempted but it seems like something or another gets changed with it.

I'm off to get some cleaning done and make out chore sheets for the kids since all of them will be home this evening.
