Handmade Christmas Week 5

Hey All,

Another week has passed and it's time for another Handmade Christmas. But first I would like to share a couple things with you.

Look who I found in the box of decorations. He wasn't very happy when I finally made him get out so I could get into that box. But it didn't take him long to find another box to hop into for another cat nap.

These treasures are some stuff that Dale and Jene` made 6 or 7 years ago when I had them take a ceramic summer day camp. I always looked for different things for them to do because you never know if they will find something that they will enjoy. My motto is if you don't try it you won't know if you like it. They really did like it and that week in July they made Christmas decorations. Just look at the talent at the ripe old ages of..... maybe 9 and 11. Every year when I pull out the decorations they are there making sure I hadn't forgotten to put out these treasures. Do you think I would forget these cute penguins, snowmen and Christmas trees? Each piece gets wrapped extra well when they are put up for the year so that I will have them for many many years to come. The penguins light up. The Christmas trees spoon holders. The snowmen are hot chocolate holders and cup. These are by far my favorite decorations!

And now onto a Handmade Christmas over on Proverbs 31 Living. Go check out what everyone is making. I do I can't wait for new ideas and inspiration.

This standing lamp just looked plain...... dull..... boring. So I wrapped it in garland and put a bow on it. Easy enough already had the garland and bow. And now it fits it with everything else in that little corner. I just have to mention if you notice up on the shelf the little candle made from foil. That was something Colin had brought home last year from school. I love hanging onto what my kids have made and using them each year.

I wanted to make a wreath but you know there are so many different ways to make wreaths. I've looked at many ideas and found the perfect one to make over on The Pleasures Of Homemaking. A pom pom wreath! So so so easy to make. I remember as a teen my stepmom and I made pom pom cats. They were adorable and I wish I could remember what we had done to put them together. But anyway when I saw the pom pom wreath I knew exactly what my next project was going to be. I made the pom poms while watching TV and then hot glued them to this wooden circle. Found a few little decorations to put on it and that wasn't hard to find in my many Christmas decorations. I had all the supplies already on hand. I can't tell you how long that round wooden cirlce has been sitting in the craft closet. I'm going to say a few years anyway and it's good to put it to use.

It only took minutes to finish it up and get it onto the wall. I like it so much I'm thinking about making another one. Go on over to The Pleasures Of Homemaking and check out how to make the pom poms and the wreath she made.
Take Care :)

My dearest cousin,

How cute are the homemade decorations.

Now, you know, just how much I love you and I've mentioned a time or two, how much I "really love snowmen" I think I qualify as a collector of snowmen... LOL

No really, those are sweet little decorations.

Cool wreath, and I think your idea for the lamp (Grand D has one just like it in her room) was a hit, thanks for sharing.

Now I have to check out the other blogs some of your ideas came from.

Love ya,
Mel
