Catching Up!

Wow there is so much to catch up on. I've been slack on my blog! To start things off I've completed 8 projects, I think that makes 13 for the year so far. OH I need to get busy! Three crocheted hats to go along with the scarves I had already made. A potholder and a dishcloth. A bench that I redid and now I have another one to do. And the final two things for the color of the month a green afghan, nothing fancy I started it before I could read a pattern and a green drawstring bag.

A work in progress. I started this last week in crochet class. I can't wait until tomorrow to see how much everyone else has done.

Now I'm caught up to the present and have two home sick with the stomach virus. Colin had it last Thursday and Dale started with it last night and Jene` came home early from school with it today. I hope they get over it as quickly as Colin did!

I couldn't help myself the other day and stopped at the library and picked up another book by Rett MacPherson... Thicker Than Water. So far so good I'll update you on it when I finish.

Busy As A Beaver

We have had so many things going on around here. Where to start is the question???? Finally got hubby to help hang stuff in the living room so now I can say that room is done. But with one exception, of course there has to be something, the pictures he hung on the one wall I want him to put higher. The bathroom is almost completed just have to put a 2nd coat on the closet door and hubby has to hang the new light. That's the remodeling news. And time to start the dining room!

We spent an evening at urgent care with Dale he got hit in the face with a baseball. Oh the poor child looked horrific for a few days. It looks much better now let's see it's been 6 days since he got hit and now his nose just hurts. I told him he had better stick to the things he knows like golf, soccer, and basketball.

Next...what's next??

Oh I finished my scarf for crochet class and did 2 more for children one for Kaylee and one for Emily. And not to mention it will go for my red project. We started the hat this morning and I'm having problems with it and going in Wednesday morning for extra help. I just don't understand anything that we are doing. Or maybe I just need some glasses to see it better.

The boys have been helping out in the yard since we have had beautiful weather. They have gotten a lot of leaves up but there are still many more to go. But it does keep them busy and good exercise as well. Ok, they don't share my point of view on it. lol

Oh my gosh I took Jene` to the DMV to get her permit on Saturday and we got there and someone said they are closed. I thought Jene` was going to break the down in and get her own permit. She said I've waited 13 months and they are closed. We wouldn't let her get it until she turned 16 and it seems like since her birthday she has been busy with one thing after another and this was the first time we could make it down there. I guess we will be going back next Saturday.

I guess I had better get busy I made out a To Do List and I've gotten a lot crossed off but there is still many more to go.

Remodeling...Will It Ever End?

Why? Why? Why? Does my man insist on leaving something in each room unfinished? Why can't one room be finished before going to the next? I can't answer this and he can't answer this. Oh well but it's getting done. This weekend he focused all his attention to the bathroom. The tile on the floor is almost finished just a few pieces in front of the door. The tile around the tub is half finished. OH WOW it looks so good! I know he will be trying to get home early and working in there in the evenings. Someone...I won't mention his name...invited people over for a superbowl party. But he has had a lot of help not sure how much help. lol

To give daddy a break I had the little helper to come help me.

Night by Night

I started an afghan on 12/30/07. I only work on it right before bed to help put me to sleep. Hmmm...how is that working out you are thinking...not so great I was up until 2 on night one. lol
This is going to be a me project. I can't remember the last time I made something for me. Someday when it's finished it's going to be on the back of my chair. That means everyone with little grubby hands don't touch it...that means if you walk on four legs to stay away from it. Yeah right who am I kidding!


Anyway here is night 1... got it started!

Night 2... coming along nicely!

Night 3... Oh no found a mistake how did it happen how come I didn't see it before this...after about an hour working on it I then had to rip 4 rows out. YIKES!

Night 4... almost back to where I was at before I had to rip it out. Maybe tonight will be better.

I started this today primed one wall and the built in bookcase. If all goes well tomorrow I will get it painted.

Saturday I have to take the kids out to do some returns so I'll stop and pick up the batting I need to finish that bench. Can't wait! I can picture in my mind what it's going to look like but I can't wait to see the finished product.

What a weekend...

the house is a disaster! But in a good way Tony put down a lot of the floor today. It poured most of the day so the carpet he pulled up is on the other side of the room. Hopefully tomorrow that can be hauled off. I'm not sure if we bought enough flooring looking at what is left it just doesn't seem possible that we have enough. But then again there is only 2 and a half rows that need to be finished on the living room side and that is the longest. The dining room is only half the size so maybe we have enough.

Colin has been a handful wanting to do everything daddy does. It was so funny yesterday I fixed lunch Tony wanted leftovers from the night before and Colin wanted a sandwich, yogurt and chips. So he finished eating just as daddy was coming to get his food and he said...ummm daddy lunch time is over we need to get back to work. You can eat on the next break. Daddy informed his supervisor that he was hungry and he was going to eat that he would just have to wait on him. Today he was more in the way than anything and I tried to get him distracted with other things but he wanted no part of it. So I told him he had to come into his bedroom with me and help me clean up his room. Oh you would have thought the end of the world was coming. Finally he came in and after about 2 minutes I heard I want to take a nap. You don't take naps I reminded him. But I want one today. No, you can go to bed early tonight because right now you are going to help me. After another few minutes I heard I need a break my legs are tired. Why are your legs tired you are sitting down? I mean my knees are tired. I said well then if they get tired that easily I think you need to exercise them more. Finally in the end we went through his bookcase and managed to get rid of some. They will be going to Brendon and Kaylee. He also picked up toys and of course that was done with a lot of I don't want to do this or there isn't room for any more to go in so I guess I have to stop. Finally it was time to stop and get ready to go to the store and I made him go against his will. He wanted to help daddy. I think daddy had enough help yesterday and wasn't really wanting any help today. Tomorrow we are going to start on his desk and then go through shoes in the closet.

Cinnamon Sugar passed away Thursday we had her for a year exactly to the day. She seemed fine the day before but Colin had gone into the bedroom that afternoon and came out to say mommy come quick Cinnamon Sugar won't wake up. He was so sad and kept waiting for me to do something to make her wake up. I know she had been on the wheel the night before you can hear it through the house so I really don't know why she died. She didn't seem ill. I really don't know how long a hamster should live. Today Colin asked if he could get another hamster and I told him not right now.

Keeping Colin busy today put me behind on the bench. I did manage to get one coat of paint on it tonight and I'm hoping for a good day tomorrow so I can put a second coat on it. I need to go to Michael's and get some batting so I can recover it. Oh well I'll get to that in time tomorrow we be spent cleaning up so the other side of the room can be started in the next couple of days.

I'll think I'll go crochet a bit and then get to bed.

Yep, I got off my tush and did it!


I'm getting pretty good with that drill.



Now in the morning I can flip it and prime the other side and by tomorrow evening it will be painted. I already have material just have to get some batting and I can give it a completely different look.

Back To The Grindstone...

Christmas is over and so it was back to remodeling today. It didn't take long to take care of the few decorations we did put out and to move stuff around. This is what Tony started today...

It's in the drying process now and hopefully tomorrow it can be grouted. He also started taking up carpet and found two places that he had to fix.

I worked on the table and chairs...

The table is done and 2 chairs. The other 2 chairs needs the backs fixed before I paint them. I've also decided to paint a bench I have white and to recover it. I might start that tonight so the primer can dry and I can paint it tomorrow. It's a good thought and if I can get my tush off of here I should be able to get it done before my little night owl goes to sleep.

Filing Cabinets

I painted the filing cabinets yesterday. Oh they look much better.
