Back to SCHOOL! :)

Hey All,

Yesterday was the first day back to school and I was in complete heaven. I took the day to do nothing!!! I took a long bath without being interrupted... watched big people TV you know like the news and The Today Show... played a computer game without hearing "I was going to get on there are you almost done"... listened to complete silence no "can you take me", " can I go", "there's nothing to eat", "he's copying me", "can so and so come over", "he won't stay out of my room", "I'm bored there's nothing to do"... ahhhhhh I love the first day back to school!

Today it's back to reality making up for things that were undone yesterday the dishwasher, washer, and dryer going, garbage gathered to be taken to the recycle center, the dehydrator is full of onions, and getting ready to vacuum. Started making my lists for fall cleaning/decluttering and outside winterizing.

After a summer of kids lots of kids I'm ready to take it easy. I had the two little ones several times. Once I got a call from my daughter and heard this weak crying voice "mom I just got out of the emergency room can you keep the kids for a few days" She fell off a skateboard and was hurt pretty badly. She is an excellent skateboarder, roller skater, and roller blader but when your little 5 year old decides you need a push while you are stopped talking to someone well things happen. I also had my niece for a few days and my nephew two different times for a week each time. It seemed like at times I had a revolving door because one would leave and within hours the next would show up. At least Colin had plenty of playmates this summer.

So for now I'm off to do some cleaning but I'll be back tomorrow to see what all my blogger friends have been up to.

Take Care :)

Hi Vicky,

Hope, Jessie, is doing better after her tumble.

We've had grandkids alot lately also, but it's been fun. Our 7 year old grandson actually wanted to help grampy clean the barn/stalls. Of course, he wanted to drive the 4 wheeler to dump the stuff they cleaned (man-ure)... LOL
We took him to the woodsmen festival on Saturday, where we watched men and their chainsaws carve the most awesome bears, eagles, wolves etc. he thought that was the greatest.

Our youngest granchild will be 3 months old tomorrow. She is growing like a little weed. I will have to get some pictures of her to share.

Have a greast evening,
Mel

Sounds like you EARNED that day of relaxation! I hope your daughter is much better. She is lucky to have you to help.

And the cherries? Just a paring knife (or a pitting machine if you're lucky), a few hours of cutting out pits over a colander (my chickens went crazy for the pits), and then 6-8 hours on medium in the dehydrator. I did them in 10-pound batches to fill my trays. Good luck and have fun with the purple fingernails!
